October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the YWCA is teaming up with Allstate’s Purple Purse Foundation to raise awareness about the cause.
People cab get involved by wearing the color purple, sharing their photos on social media using #YWCAGoesPurple and donating to YWCA Utah’s Allstate Purple Purse Challenge fund.
The fund supports survivors of sexual assault.
More than one-third of Utah women have experienced domestic violence in their lifetime, yet the majority of incidents go unreported and women and their families don’t receive the help they need resulting in isolation, loss of self-confidence, financial disempowerment and contributing to debilitating physical and mental health problems.
