It’s
Cindy’s ability to look at all the options available and
strategically plan a creative course of action that has helped
her meet clients’ needs for more than 15 years. Cindy has
developed the strategic direction, creative approach and
communications programs around some of today’s most challenging
issues, including those that affect the environment, social
issues and market share. She is an expert in the art of
strategic planning and has a talent for implementing
results-oriented communications efforts that exceed her clients’
expectations.
Her experience includes work on
the proposed Lake Powell Pipeline, a regional pipeline that will
bring water from Lake Powell to three southern Utah counties;
the Southwest Jordan Valley Groundwater Project, one of the most
significant groundwater reclamation projects in North America;
assisting the Central Utah Water Conservancy District with its
2005 tax increase; developing the Governor’s Water Conservation
Team’s Slow The Flow initiative; helping Central Iron County
Water Conservancy District gain community support to increase
taxes and be part of the Lake Powell Pipeline project; the June
Sucker Recovery Implementation Program and Virgin River Program,
two programs established to recover endangered fish species and
the ecosystems they depend upon; Utah Governor Olene Walker’s
flagship initiative entitled Read With A Child; the Utah
Department of Workforce Services’ Care About Childcare
initiative; and with the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare,
Idaho’s largest state agency, to brand, create a comprehensive
communications plan and develop multi-media campaigns around key
initiatives, such as immunizations, Children’s Health Insurance
Program and mental health.
She is currently leading
Wilkinson Ferrari & Co.’s work on the Salt Lake Chamber’s
Downtown Rising initiative, a business-led, regional
collaboration effort to create a long-range vision for downtown
Salt Lake City; with the Swaner Nature Preserve, a 1,200-acre
land trust near Park City, Utah; and with Holly Energy
Corporation’s Porcupine Ridge Pipeline, a 64-mile crude oil
pipeline from the Utah-Wyoming border to Holly’s refinery in
West Bountiful, Utah.
Prior to joining Wilkinson
Ferrari & Co., Cindy was a partner at Vanguard Media Group, a
regional communications agency. Before that she worked at WF&Co.
for seven years overseeing the agency’s integrated practice area
and as an account supervisor. In addition, Cindy has been
marketing director for the Salt Lake Community College and has
worked with the Los Angeles-based public relations firm
Berkhemer Kline Golin/Harris to launch a Nintendo game.
Cindy has a bachelor’s degree in
communications with an emphasis in public relations from the
University of Utah. She is a member of the University of Utah
Hospital Foundation Marketing Committee and has served on the
board of the Public Relations Society of America’ Greater Salt
Lake Chapter for a number of years. Cindy frequently speaks to
communication students at the University of Utah, Westminster
College and Utah State University, and has given numerous
communications presentations to various organizations. Her work
has received several awards including International Gold
Pinnacle Awards, national Telly Awards, ADDY Awards and Golden
Spike Awards.
Cindy adheres to the philosophy
“Life’s short, live big,” both in her professional and personal
life. She loves the outdoors and fills her free time with her
husband and son Jonathon. She is a self-described “perpetual
student of life,” she loves to travel and throw herself into new
projects.
